We offer the possibility of exploring Sicily at a realistic and enjoyable pace at any time of the year, although April, May, June, September and October are ideal times for touring.
A ‘Discovering’ holiday offers one, two or even three week holidays at your choice of any of our hotels listed below. This is an ideal way of discovering different areas for example, or any one region in greater depth. We will be pleased to discuss your requirements and recommend suitable itineraries, depending on what you are looking for – from history, art, archaeology, food and wine to nature, flowers and walking. You can even combine Sicily with a trip to Tuscany & Umbria and we also offer city breaks in Venice, Florence and Rome, which you can add to the beginning of end of any holiday.
Alternatively, you may chose to combine a stay in a hotel or a selection of hotels with a one week stay in any of our self-catering villas or apartments.
Pricing a ‘Discovering’ holiday
Generally, a minimum stay of 3 nights and usually a maximum stay of 4 nights is required in each hotel (however shorter or longer stays are also available in many cases). This can also be combined with an additional 7 nights stay in a villa or another hotel. Please note that some hotels may require a 7 night minimum stay at certain times of year – please refer to our prices.
To work out the cost of your holiday take the ‘3 night’ price per person based on the arrival date and apply the extra night price for each additional night, based on the date of stay at the relevant hotel. The cost of car hire, where it is not automatically included, will be added to this. Please also note that additional flight supplements or transfer costs may apply.
If you wish to combine a week in any of our self-catering properties with a few days either side to explore the countryside and cities of the area. In this case, just take the ‘1 week’ price per person based on the arrival date at your chosen self-catering property and then add the hotel ‘Extra night’ price based on the dates of your stay.
Please note that in certain cases it may be necessary to fly you in and out of different airports (via Rome or Milan) – we can discuss this with you at the time of booking.
Please note that there is a £25 per person administration fee for all ‘Discovering’ and multi-centre holidays.

As well as touring parts of the island, for those guests who wish to stay based in one area, we are also able to give you the opportunity to hire a private driver for the day to take you to a specific area or place of interest. The Italian speaking driver will pick you up from your accommodation (or a nearby meeting place if road access is difficult) and drive you in comfort to your destination(s), then take you back to your property at the end of the day. This may be of particular interest to guests who may not wish to drive during their holiday, but who still would like the opportunity to see other parts of the wonderful island.
Furthermore, for guests based in Taormina, we are also able to arrange an English speaking experienced guide to accompany you on your chauffeur-driven trip.
