Our professional and experienced child-care team Our child-care team undergo a rigorous selection process with all the proper checks and we only recruit English-speaking nannies that are NNEB or equivalent qualified. They must also demonstrate that they are dedicated to the welfare and happiness of your child. We ensure a high ratio of nannies to children according to official UK guidelines in order to provide the best levels of childcare at all times. This means however, that there are limited places available, so we advise you to book your holiday as early as possible to secure a confirmed place for your child at our Crèche or Children’s Club. Children’s equipment and activities Our club equipment and facilities are of a high standard. The equipment and toys are new for this season and have been chosen for their educational and fun qualities. There is a good selection to cater for all ages. The ‘Hatchlings’ Crèche has its own room at the Clubhouse with plenty of sensory toys, books and features to keep the little ones occupied and stimulated. There is also a separate nursery room, equipped so the ‘Hatchlings’ can sleep if needed. The Clubhouse has all the latest games, toys and equipment you would expect from a quality Children’s Club. Activities will be arranged according to the various age groups in the Club and where appropriate the age groups will be split and separate activities arranged. There is a large enclosed outdoor area with a sandpit, play area and outdoor toys, an ideal space for everyone to have fun. An extra shaded area has been provided so that your children can enjoy the fresh air without being exposed too much to the heat of the sun. Periyali has such a wonderful environment that we have arranged all the activities to take place within the Clubhouse itself or in the gardens. Within the Club there will be all the favourite activities such as face painting, arts and crafts, music and movement, theme days with fancy dress, mask making and many others. Our friendly staff have a wealth of experience and can always arrange something interesting for your children to be involved with. Our Nannies will ensure that the children make the most of the beautiful gardens at Periyali, and enjoy the natural environment, participate in nature trails, scavenger hunts and also have time to enjoy the outdoor games which all children love. Evening Club Sessions In order for you to enjoy a relaxing evening or two to yourselves whilst on holiday, without the need for a babysitter, we have arranged two evening Club sessions each week. Simpson Travel is offering this innovative service because it also gives the kids the chance to enjoy their evenings in a sociable Club environment, using the facilities of the Club and relaxing in the company of other children whilst being supervised by our professional staff. Activities will be appropriate for the time of day, with relaxing activities such as stories, watching a DVD and gentler games. Of course, some of children and especially the babies may just want to snooze off on the sleeping mats or cots provided! If you book the ‘Full day’ Club option, (4 morning and 4 afternoon sessions), both evening sessions are included each week. If you book the ‘Half-day’ Club option, (4 morning or 4 afternoon sessions), then one evening Club is included each week. It may be possible for you to book places for some individual Evening Club sessions locally. However, this service will be subject to availability and vary according to season, so cannot therefore be guaranteed. If available, the cost will be £20 per session for each child, paid locally.
Pre-departure Service Before your leave for your holiday, you will be sent a Children’s Club Registration Pack which includes important information and various forms that need completing and sending back to us before your departure. Please note that these form part of your holiday booking conditions. We ask you to provide information about any special requirements your child may have, medical conditions, allergies, and dietary requirements, sleep patterns and any other information we feel is important. This information helps us to assess your child’s particular needs and will be sent to our staff overseas in preparation for your visit. We will give you a contact number for our team of resident nannies, so that if you have any queries about local facilities you can contact them directly. Alternatively, our UK reservations department will be able to assist you. In order to help you with your holiday planning, we also include a list in your Registration Pack, giving helpful suggestions for essential items that you might need to take on holiday and pack for your journey, as well as details of what your child needs to bring to the Club. We also include a list of baby supplies, which can normally be found locally in the supermarkets, plus their approximate costs. Although we cannot guarantee that all these items will always be available, it gives you a good idea of which items are generally stocked locally. The pack also contains important information regarding registration procedures at the Children’s Clubs on arrival at Periyali. As part of this pack, all ‘Turtles Club’ members will also receive a complimentary Simpson Travel Children’s Club backpack, for the kids to pack their favourite toys in for their holiday in Greece. Children’s Food and Meals Packed Lunches Since many children have particular likes and dislikes regarding their food and others sometimes have special dietary requirements, we consider it preferable for you to prepare your own child’s packed lunch for him/her to bring with to the Club (for Full day sessions only). For your convenience, we provide in each villa food and drink containers, which can be used to bring packed lunches to the Club or to take away on family days out. Babies bottles and formula milk Please supply us each day with your own specially prepared baby bottles and normal formula milk. These will be stored hygienically in the Clubhouse fridge at all times. Snacks Fruit and biscuits are supplied throughout the day and fresh drinking water is constantly available. (However, please make sure that you advise us at the time of registration, if your child has any allergies). Nearby shops and mini-markets There are small mini-markets nearby selling essentials, and larger shops and supermarkets in Zakynthos town, where you can find a limited choice of baby and children’s supplies such as formula milk, baby foods and nappies. However, if you require a special brand of any particular item, then we suggest you to bring it with you. Poolside bar There is a poolside bar offering a children’s menu during out of Club hours, which serves your children’s usual favourite foods, as well as some healthy options. Highchairs are available at the pool bar. Baby Equipment available for your villa Please discuss your requirements with our UK consultants when arranging your holiday and make sure you pre-book any items you need for your baby or child on arrival at your villa We can supply the following equipment either completely free or for a small extra cost:
Additional information *Our cots: these may vary from the type/model you normally use in the UK, so you may prefer to bring your own travel cot with you ** Infant or child booster seats please note that our Car Hire Agent in Zakynthos does not install infant and child seats in their cars. However, they do normally provide instructions, but since the style and installation may differ to those you use in the UK, you may prefer to bring your own for your own peace of mind. Children with Special Needs We are happy to assist should your child have any special needs. However it is essential that you contact us in advance of making your booking, so that we can discuss your child’s individual requirements and give you correct advice and information regarding the suitability of our Clubs for your child. Illness/Cancellation If your baby or child is unfortunate enough to fall ill during your holiday, you will need to look after them at home in your villa until the risk of any illness spreading to the other children has gone. We regret however, that we are unable to make any refund in the unlikely event that your child is no longer able to attend the club sessions due to illness or any other personal reasons. |
